SAFE

THE AUSTIN SAFE ALLIANCE

Nationwide, the Alpha Chi Omega philanthropy is domestic violence awareness. Here at Texas, we partner up with The SAFE Alliance, a center for battered women and children. They commit themselves to preventing domestic violence, sexual assault and breaking the cycle of violence in the Austin community. They offer a comprehensive and compassionate selection of services, providing support and resources for survivors to create independent lives free of violence for themselves and their families. Their ultimate goal is to create a community that is full of peace and safety for all. SAFE is ending sexual and domestic violence through safety, healing, prevention and social change. We’ve worked very hard to be named The SAFE Alliance's number one outside contributor.

FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES

ALPHA
CHI COUTURE

Alpha Chi Couture is an annual fashion show and silent auction that Alpha Chi Omega puts on to fight against domestic violence. This year, the fashion show was located at the Palmer Events Center near UT campus. Our annual show this past spring raised over $130,000 in one night for SAFE. Each year, Alpha Chi Omega continues to donate thousands in funding to support the fight against domestic violence. Sponsorships and donations from businesses around the Austin area generously contribute to our silent auction helping us make our philanthropic event a huge success.

In order to include all of Greek life, we recruit models from the other UT sororities, fraternities, and UT athletes. In past years, our models have strutted down the runway in collections donated by Free People Movement, David's Bridal, Aviator Nation, Sherri Hill, and many others.

PIZZA PIE WITH ALPHA CHI

Pizza Pie with Alpha Chi is our annual event during West Fest! Our chapter invited members of the greek community to come to our house and enjoy an “all you can eat” pizza buffet. This year we had pizza donated from Ropollo's, Jett's, Marco's, and many other local favorites. In addition to the buffet, we had a hair tinsle, charicture drawing and face painting for our visitors to enjoy! All of the money we made from admission into our event went directly to SAFE, a total of over $6,000. Nothing beats fresh pizza, friends, and philanthropy.
